Diamond Mine takes us straight to a mine, ready for us to start digging. We see through a cross-section of the mine and inside is the reel case. Across the six reels and varying paylines are all the slot’s symbols.

This includes a miner’s Lamp, Pickaxe, Diamond and the Bearded Miner himself. Because all miners have beards. Diamond Mine benefits from Cascading Symbols which means that on every winning combination, the symbols blast away and disappear from the screen.

New symbols that appear on a row above will drop into place. If they’re part of a winning combination then BOOM, off they go to explode and allow more symbols to fall into their places,. And so on, until no more combinations can be made. Gameplay

SG Digital fits a lot into this slot. And we’re not just talking about the crazy amount of paylines and crazy old coot miner who we must admit, is very stereotypical but very much appreciated.

We get the chance for the paylines to increase on each spin and with 117,649 paylines in play, the mine is our oyster. The TNT Barrel can appear anywhere on the reels and acts as the Mystery Symbol. Usually, if we were mining, the idea of a Mystery Symbol would sound ominous.

But as we’re doing this safe and sound from outside, we’ll take that barrel and use it to transform into a matching symbol to help us out with a win. The Sack of Gold is the Scatter symbol and gives us Free Spins when it lands at least four times anywhere on the reels.

Initially we dig up 12 free spins but any subsequent Sack of Gold that appears will award us another five free spins. Cascading symbols are also active during our spins but now they give us an added Multiplier for each cascade win. Nice.

Verdict

When we first try Diamond Mine, we can’t help but think of Big Time Gaming’s Bonanza MegaWays slot. And so it should, as that slot is all about mining too.
