To help create a realistic casino experience, as any good online game should, Sharp Shooter whisks us across a grand casino floor to a brightly coloured red table. At the top of the screen we clearly see the Croupier’s section for their dice, while our ‘Ante’ section is at the bottom.

Each new turn sees the dealer roll three dice, with the three numbers revealed forming the Croupier’s hand. Now it’s our turn. The sound effects of the dice rolling are as realistic as dice rolling can be (exciting stuff!) but it is those nice little touches which add some realism to the game, such as the dice hitting the table edge and coming to a satisfactory rest.

The croupier’s dice are coloured blue while ours are in red, which 1x2 Gaming could have made contrast more with the red table felt. Nevertheless, those bright white dots on the dice stand out just enough so we can see them. Which is good as that’s what the whole game is about. Each time we match one of our numbers to the Croupier’s, the dice in questions flashes brightly while the Croupier’s dice in question explodes as if taken out by a Sharp Shooter. Us.

Gameplay

Before we get our hands on the dice, we have to place our bets by selecting from the chips at the bottom of the screen. From 0.10 up to 200, it’s a nice betting range for a quick-fire game. Once we’ve done that, the croupier throws their dice and the three numbers remain at the top of the screen. We then get three rolls to match the Croupier’s numbers.

If the Croupier rolled a four, five and six, four example, then those are the numbers we need to roll. We could do it on the first roll, or the third – that’s the excitement of the game! Sharp Shooter clearly states the payouts on screen, for example if we win on the first roll it pays 8/1. Then it’s 7/5 for winning on the second roll and 1/2 for the third and final roll.

It’s a simple game to play but with a high enough RTP of 95.68% there’s a high probability we’re going to beat the Croupier at their game and roll away as dice champion. Or as 1x2 Gaming would have us say, the Sharp Shooter.

Verdict

Sharp Shooter could be just the game that we’d play down in an old timey saloon. You know, if we lived in America in the 1800s. Saying that retro games are in (were they ever out?) and this effort is also a fun take on instant win games, giving us the feeling of a classic table game but with that sense of quick-fire imminence.

And there’s no skill involved either, which means we’re not stressing out trying to beat the dealer. We just roll away and play for cash prizes. With £1,600 top prize up for grabs in every game, it’s well worth giving it a roll.
