As expected on a yuletide slot, there’s more than a festive feel to Jingle Spin, but it’s not overly cliché like some other slots out there. Santa appears as a mascot on the right of the reels, pulling a crank that spins his special wheel each time we press the spin button.

There’s almost a steampunk theme to it, with Santa wearing goggles and blacksmith’s gloves while above each reel we see little green elves, each of them a smaller version of Santa.

The symbols are comprised of Reindeers, Pinecones and other decorations, each with a little hook on top. It’s the little touches like this that make us discover something new on each spin, with the game’s graphics bursting into life when we trigger any of the bonus features.

Gameplay

With an easy setup, all the main buttons are at the bottom of the screen in a jolly red colour. And with each spin of the reel, Santa pulls the lever and his wheel of baubles spins along too. While matching symbols to form wins is a big part of the game, Santa has the real pulling power.

There are different baubles, which can appear within a slot on the wheel. If the arrow lands on it, that bauble jumps out to the elf on the fifth reel. Each subsequent spin after, the bauble is thrown to the elf to the left. However, if the Wild symbol appears on the reel below the elf carrying a bauble, one of the bonus features is triggered. Watch out for the lucrative Free Spins bauble.

The number of extra spins is displayed on the bauble and can be anywhere between 7-50 spins. There is also the Spreading Wild feature, Coin Win feature and Surprise feature, all giving us chances to fill our festive stockings with cold, hard cash. Or warm, soft cash, if you’d prefer.

Verdict

Although Jingle Spin doesn’t have the conventional bonuses triggered by Scatter symbols, the unique bauble-throwing elves more than make up for it. It gives the impression that we’re actually helping Santa and his troop out as they start churning out the presents.

Though this time, we’re on the receiving end with the chance to win up to 473.75 times our stake thanks to Spreading Wilds and other features that send the reels, and a cool steampunk Santa, into frenzies.
