We all love Vikings. Fact. Whether it’s re-watching the Thor films, playing the Thunderstruck II slot or immersing ourselves in the Vikings TV show, we love them. That’s why it’s a shame that the TV show will be airing its last season. Champions of Valhalla takes us to the heavens of the Norse gods and introduces us to Odin, Freydis and Berserker. Not since Microgaming’s Thunderstruck II have we enjoyed such an epic journey to Valhalla (okay, we’re not sure on who Berserker’s meant to be but our attention is focused on the depiction of Odin anyway). Odin looks a young, strong and powerful God. Not at all like Anthony Hopkins (no offence, Hoppers).

The real power comes in the Block of Wilds feature. When we see the Rune symbol appear on the third reel, Odin strikes lightning across the reels. The Rune then moves across the reels, bringing these myths to life and transforming all the symbols along the way into ice blocks. Then, one of our heroes appears in a cool animation, smashing the blocks and turning all the symbols Wild! The wins come our way, the gods are triumphant and it’s happy days all round.

The King Of Vikings

Odin never gets the credit he deserves, so it’s good to see him take centre stage on a slot. Even better when he’s part of the Block of Wilds feature and blasting wins our way! So long Ragnar, ta-ta Thor. We’re praising Odin now.
