The Cash Splash 3 Reel feels very of its time, like we are in a Las Vegas casino pulling the lever of a one-armed bandit. Cherries, BARs and 7s make up our game symbols, with our base game wins coming from various combinations of each.

Our paytable sits next to the reels, leaving us in no uncertainty as to what we are need to land the payouts we crave. But, in classic fashion, landing just one Cherries or BAR anywhere across the game’s single pay-line will yield a small payout.

Gameplay

Toggling our bet level using the Bet One button switches our bets - and our payouts - across the 1st, 2nd and 3rd columns on the pay table.

A satisfyingly classic button sound effect accompanies this action. But it is at the 3rd pay column for which we will no doubt aim. We must play three coins to get our shot at the progressive jackpot. So, while we can opt for a lower stake, doing so won’t bring us the progressive haul we’re after.

We do have a Wild to help us find winning combos, though. The Cash Splash game logo substitutes for all symbols, delivering extra multipliers as we go. Landing winning combos using one Cash Splash Wild brings a x2 multiplier, while using two Cash Splash Wilds to complete a win grants a hefty x4 multiplier. It’s certainly worth chatting about if it is going to bring a payout with 7s or stacked BARs.

Verdict

It’s vintage, certainly. But Cash Splash 3 Reel’s fun - and potential - lies in its simplicity.

It’s easy to play, simple to understand and has very real payout possibilities. The 3.00 per spin needed to have a shot at the progressive jackpot and relatively low RTP might turn some slots fans off, but let’s not forget Microgaming’s clever addition of its Cash Splash Wilds and the multipliers they bring to the table.

Plus, of course, we have the constantly dangling carrot of the game’s progressive jackpot to salivate over.
