All symbols can appear stacked, though, which is the only route to big payouts in this game. The Solar Wild doesn’t add any multipliers, making Milky Ways completely reliant on the Free Spins feature or stacked symbol base game wins.

To trigger the bonus round you must land three Milky Way Scatters on the centre three reels. You then have 3 spins, during which two Wilds are guaranteed and symbols appear even more stacked. Landing Wild wins trigger Fusion Spins, in which all winning symbols and Wilds are locked. Landing further winning symbols locks them in until no winning symbols land.

Verdict

The trouble with many high volatility slots lies in the low payout values for its game symbols. While symbols can appear stacked during the base game, the stacked symbols are far more prevalent in the Milky Ways bonus feature. Even on the game’s lowest stake of 0.20, you can still bag a payout of £/€1,562.50 if you land the game’s highest paying symbol fully stacked across the entire game board. It is a dangling carrot, but whether you can take the low payouts during the base game while you hunt down the game’s bonus feature is a question only you can answer.
