We’ve always wondered if Santa and his helpers actually got on. According to this slot it’s not always the case. Santa vs Rudolf has cartoon graphics with that extra edge. Santa without his hat on, looking at once angry with life and simultaneously clueless, facing up to a rebellious Rudolf standing up to his master. It is certainly a departure from the more recognised Christmas stories like that play out in slots like Jingle Spin, and it makes for an interesting twist.

As the slot begins, we see Rudolf hide Santa’s hat and a brawl ensues, with Santa taking to the left of the reels and Rudolf to the right. At least the symbols are filled with festive cheer.

Gameplay

If the slot looks and feels like a cartoon brawler game, it plays out like that as well. As we spin away, we wait for our presents, like a child on Christmas Eve. This comes in the form of Free Spins, which only triggers when Rudolf and Santa appear on the same row and cross as Walking Wilds. We then see the two Christmas powerheads battle it out and give us ten Free Spins.

But what really grabs our attention is at the top of the screen we can see Santa’s Gifts and Rudolf Spins above each character. It’s starting to turn in to Street Fighter! With their own health bars! Santa battling Rudolf probably isn’t what what we would want for Christmas before we fired this slot, but each time we get a Santa or Rudolf Wild, the corresponding bar increases by one. Fill up all eight and we trigger the respective round.

The Santa’s Gifts feature gives us the opportunity to pick our own prize, such as a cash prize or Multiplier. Not that great for Santa if we’re being honest. Verdict
