News just in. The EGR Operator Awards have just finished at London’s Grosvenor House and what a celebration it was. It might have got a bit messy at the after party but we’re more concerned with the burning question: who scooped the Game of the Year Award? We bet you want to know too. Don’t you? You’d hate to be kept waiting…okay, we’ll tell you. This year it went to Evolution Gaming for Lightning Roulette.
Recognising The Best In Roulette
The EGR Awards are billed as the “Oscars of the online gaming industry”. Last year, Wild Toro from ELK Studios landed the top gong while NetEnt’s Guns N Roses online slot took the accolades the year before. It is, of course, an honour to be the recipient of an award but even more so to win the Game of the Year Award. That’s the true testament to how good your games actually are. And Evolution Gaming can now add that to its trophy cabinet.
Lightning Roulette is a new take on Live Roulette. Instead of a live dealer front and centre, talking to you as you spin the wheel and bet on red and black, the same as everyone else, this game has a nice new element to it. Lightning! Before each spin, we choose a number between one and five and the host, standing on the side of the screen, pulls the lever as lightning strikes the panels in the middle of the screen. If our lucky number is struck we win a big prize. How big? Let’s just say the minimum is 50 times our bet while the maximum is 500. Epic.
Evolving Classic Games
Perhaps it’s in Evolution Gaming’s name for it to take traditional table games and evolve them. It certainly proved that with its previous offerings demonstrated at this year’s ICE expo. And it did it again with Lightning Roulette, which is a deserved winner of this year’s Game of the Year Award.
