Pioneers of online slots, Microgaming, announced some special news for all us Lara Croft fans. We’re going to get a new release of Tomb Raider on the slots! To celebrate its 15th anniversary with Square Enix, a third Lara Croft slot will be added to its portfolio. Yaaaas!
Raiding The Reels
This, of course is not the first incarnation of Lara Croft in slot form. When the first Tomb Raider slot came out, it gave us a chance to enjoy Lara Croft, in all her glorious, over endowed, pixelated form. That was just one of the perks. The fact the slot came with a range of cracking features and was based on one of the best video game characters of all time definitely made it alluring, particularly for online gamers. And then it got even better as Lara Croft proved she has still got it with the sequel slot released in 2004. That said, it looks like 2019 will be the year to celebrate.
Tomb Raider was the first ever licensed slot in the industry and since then Microgaming has nailed its licensing rights. Word is, the new slot will be based on the latest Lara Croft film, starring Alicia Vikander. If it’s anything like Microgaming’s Jurassic World slot adaptation then we’re in for something special. Character likenesses, excerpts from the film, audio and brand spanking new features. We’re already salivating at the mere thought. And not just because Alicia Vikander’s in it.
