We like to stay on top of all kinds of online slots and casino news at Sunny Casino. Our fingers on the pulses, you might say. And not that long ago we revealed that Per Eriksson was stepping down as CEO of NetEnt following a perceived poor performance. Since then, Therese Hillman, CFO of NetEnt, has been acting CEO and now NetEnt has revealed that position has now become permanent.
The Board Has Spoken
Since January 2017, Hillman has been Chief Financial Officer of NetEnt. She continued as such in the year that the Swedish slots supremos released such epic games as Warlords Crystals of Power and Motörhead. Before that she worked in the e-commerce industry for ten years, has been a member of the Board of Unibet and has an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance. Wow. NetEnt has surely found a good fit to fill the gap and take the company forward.
Fredrik Erbing, Chairman of the Board, said: “We are pleased to appoint Therese Hillman as new Group CEO. Therese has a clear business focus and is an appreciated leader with great energy. NetEnt is pioneering the online gaming industry and is taking the next step to be at the forefront of business focus and innovation. With Therese’s abilities, we get the right person to lead the company in the next growth phase.”
A New Leader, A New Direction
When Eriksson stepped down, it was revealed that despite NetEnt’s successes, he wasn’t delivering on the future growth NetEnt had forecast. This is now the battle for Hillman as she takes the position. And what did the new CEO have to say? “It is with great enthusiasm, but also humility, that I am taking on the role…I look forward to drive the development of the industry together with our customers and employees and to deliver the best player experiences.”
Let’s hope so, Therese. You’ve got a lot to live up to.
