It’s not an April Fool’s Joke, as it certainly wouldn’t be that funny for them, but from the 1st April Playtech have removed all its Marvel themed content from its websites and customers’ offerings. Goodbye, Spidey. So long, Cap. See ya later, Thor. All the heroes have gone. But new ones will be in its stead. Will fortune favour the brave slots studio as Playtech does a Bryan Singer and moves across the park to fantasy rivals, DC?
Clever Playtech
As part of its quest to take over the world, Walt Disney didn’t renew Playech’s licence after acquiring Marvel. But not to be outdone, Playtech knew how to play the game. First, all of its slots weren’t going to waste. For example, it’s Avengers slot was re-branded as Age of the Gods while the other Marvel games became part of the Age of the Gods franchise. This is an ingenious way to create its own franchise with its own characters and impressive slot features.
Then, perhaps because it wanted to make a point to Marvel, it released its Batman Begins slot. Based on the hit film, this five reel, 20 payline slot has five stages, each with its own features. Expanding Wilds, Flower Wilds, Batmobile Wilds, as well as a range of bonuses and four progressive jackpots give us the chance to experience what it’s like to be Bruce Wayne.
When Studios Do It Right
This is yet another example of when slot studios work around any issues and come up with superior slots. Just look at Genesis Gaming, a developer that created a truly fancy slot – Machine-Gun Unicorn. Who else would come up with a game based on weapon wielding unicorns and symbols of heads in jars? Whatever hurdles the studios face, we’re extra pleased with the end results because it gives us some truly interesting slots games to play.
